Ahhhhhhh our honeymoon was truly everything we dreamed of and more! Wide open views of nothing but trees and hills, rich culture, good eats, shopping & country music. Talk about bliss! Nashville was the perfect honeymoon location and a place we will travel to often! I do recommend having a car or renting one because it’s about a 15-20 drive everywhere and was so worth the money!
You seriously can’t beat it! I haven’t been anywhere that had an even balance of outdoorsy shenanigans & hometown culture like NashVegas. It was so nice being able to unplug and focus on the both of us for a change. And yes, I even refrained from checking work email for a few days and it was AWESOME! We had some help from friends who lived in the area. Our biggest need for the trip was to do things that weren’t huge tourist traps. We wanted to experience the local side of Nashville and I think we did that well! Here are our top 5 things we did while in Nashville:
Literally the prettiest place I have ever been! Plus it combined my love for wine and the outdoors. This was our first time to a vineyard and we loved every minute of it. Super romantic & so fun!
Franklin is the most precious town! Roughly 30 minutes from Nashville, but they have such a rich culture in itself. They have boutiques lining the streets, delicious Mom & Pop BBQ, and more. I fell in love with their quaint Starbucks! You HAVE to eat at Puckett’s – Best. BBQ. Ever!
JACK DANIEL’S DISTILLERY
Okay not gonna lie, but this is one of the main reasons we decided to visit Nashville. The distillery is about an hour and a half from Nashville in Lynchburg, TN, but the scenic route is GORG & a must see. Plus, the tasting tour takes you behind-the-scenes of the facility, gives you awesome history of the whiskey, and you get to taste the three whiskeys at the end.
Fun Fact: Lynchburg, TN has been a dry county since the prohibition. Totally ironic since the distillery is there!
Basically the Bourbon Street of Nashville and a total hoot! Lots of celebs visit this section of town and they have a whole strip of bars that are two stories high and play local country music EVERY NIGHT! We went to Tootsies and it’s just like the movies where gals sing on the bar.
Slap ya mama good! I have never had better pancakes in my life. Typically there is a line wrapped around the building to get in. Best decision ever! We ate here more than once it was so good!
There are sooooo many staple things to do while in Nashville like the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry, Loveless Cafe and more! Like I said, we will be back many times to keep discovering new places to visit. I recommend going at least once! It was well worth the money & we had a fabulous time!
What places do you recommend going to in Nashville or in the surrounding areas? I would love to hear for my next trip!
