Workout in Style

“Work, work, work, work, work, work”… legit my go-to workout jam! Thank you Rihanna for creating a tune that makes me feel B.A. and motivates me to sweat it out.

Working out is already a mental game and not a good time. Wearing workout gear that makes you feel fierce and chic is key. Let’s face it, if you look fabulous, you’re totally going to feel fabulous no matter how many squats you have to do.

I made a recent trip to my favorite browsing store, T.J. Maxx, and found the cutest pieces for a fraction of the price. I’m definitely not one to spend $80 on name brand workout leggings. I just can’t. I was able to get leggings, shorts, dri-fit shirts, sports bras, etc. for the same amount. When I found these Reebok mesh panel leggings, I just had to have them. They give a nice surprise and are super breathable. The shirt is the same…mesh paneling along the spine is a godsend!

I also can’t go without my Garmin watch when running. It has a built in GPS and can track intervals and tells you calories burned. My Qalo ring is also a must have! I don’t like to wear my wedding ring or band when working out because I’m too paranoid I might damage it. The Qalo ring is a comfortable silicone and I don’t even realize it’s there. Mine is the breast cancer awareness ring and I can’t get enough. I even wear it to grocery shop or do yard work. AMAZING! Even more amazing for husbands that are rough on jewelry.

I love a simple pair of Nike’s for walking or light exercise. Typically, I wear Brooks though because they have better support. I recommend going to your local sports shop and having them tell you what shoe works best for your foot and pronation.

PS Don’t forget the sunscreen! Your skin is your most important accessory.
