One of my favorite memories as a kid is the time I spent with my Mom and sister baking Santa’s favorite cookies: Peanut Butter Blossoms. I loved being able to take ownership and feel like I was doing something nice for someone else. Plus, I was always guaranteed to get what I asked for from Santa because little did I know that my Dad’s favorite cookie was also the Peanut Butter Blossom 😉
WHAT Y’ALL NEED
48 Hershey’s Kisses of your choice
(I bought milk chocolate and candy cane flavor)
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1 egg
STEP ONE
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Remove foil wrappers from Hershey’s Kisses.
STEP TWO
Beat shortening and peanut butter in a large bowl until well blended.
STEP THREE
Add 1/3 cup granulated sugar and brown sugar; beat until fluffy.
STEP FOUR
Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat until well blended.
STEP FIVE
Stir in baking soda, flour, and salt; beat until well blended.
STEP SIX
The fun part! Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll dough balls in granulated sugar and place on UNGREASED cookie sheet.
STEP SEVEN
Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cookies may still look raw after time is up, but that’s the way they are supposed to look.
STEP EIGHT
Remove cookies after 8-10 minutes and immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie. The cookie will crack around the edges.
STEP NINE
Remove cookies from sheet and place on wire cooling rack. Allow to cool completely and enjoy!
Recipe makes around 3 dozen cookies.
