Gus + I cannot believe Christmas is in TWO DAYS! As a kid, the countdown in my house always felt like eternity. Now as an adult, you go to bed and wake up the week of Christmas with “Oh sh*t!” because you haven’t even began to shop yet for gifts. The struggle is real with adulting.
This year, I made things super simple when shopping. Gregory was gone a good portion of December for a military trip, so I was tasked with the hall of shopping for his family and for mine. Luckily, all of us are adults and it makes things a little simpler. Most of them got one big gift and a smaller gift. Gregory and I opted for one smaller gift to each other since we’ll be taking a trip for New Year’s and agreed we would much rather binge eat all of the food out of town rather than go all out for Christmas. Also, all my friends decided no presents either. Instead, we are going to do a spa day and treat ourselves and go to a nice dinner. Totally the better option in my book!
Whether you’ve been done for weeks with your Christmas list or you’re one to enjoy the thrill of waiting until last minute like my mother-in-law, I hope each of you take a second to enjoy your time off. I know the holidays can be extremely stressful between shopping, cooking, and making small talk with distant relatives, but I hope you all will take a second to sit back, relax, and remember what Christmas is all about and enjoy the time you have with your loved ones. And for those traveling, be safe and patient with all of the extra cars on the road. My husband is a police officer and will be working all weekend so let’s not create more work for him 😉 especially on Christmas.
PS When I saw this adorable pet Santa beard, I had to get it! Yep, I’m one of THOSE dog parents. #sorrynotsorry
Merry Christmas Y’all!
