Instafaves of 2016

Another year has gone by and I cannot believe it. I love kicking off the New Year by reflecting on all of my favorite moments and setting new goals.

I must say that 2016 has been quite a blessed year for me and my family: Gregory and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary, I traveled to Nashville TWICE and went to Disney World, my sister graduated from high school, Gregory made it back home from a deployment, and I got a new job.

This past year was also a very impacting year and one in which I learned more than I ever thought I could. 2016 taught me: what I want and my dreams, where to spend my energy, who will support me endlessly, how to love and forgive, how to trust in God’s plan, where to find the best queso (this is extremely important), and that Veuve champagne is truly the top of the champs game.

But above all, I have learned a lot about myself and finally feel like I am coming into my own as an individual. Although I am only 24, I’ve always been one to be wise beyond by years. This past year has been hard, but refreshing and full of much needed guidance from God. I am thankful for each and every moment. Though some were not the best, the lessons I learned far outweigh any of the stress along the way.

To reflect and celebrate another year, I’m sharing my favorite Instagram moments and encourage y’all to do the same. Celebrate your successes and look back with gratitude on all you have overcome.

I haven’t had short hair since I was 18, so chopping off my long locks was such an amazing feeling! A fresh do made me feel fabulous and refreshed!

As you know, Gregory and I had quite the story when it came to getting married. Almost a year after being married, we were FINALLY able to get professional photos in my wedding dress and his dress blues. Definitely one of my favorite moments of 2016 and you can see more photos on the blog!

Need I say more?! My precious pug Gus made quite a few cameos on the blog and on my Instagram. I swear he should have been a model pug. I plan on posting just as many pictures of this pup in 2017. Hope you’re ready for an overload of cuteness!

I loved taking my sister to Nashville to celebrate her high school graduation. This was our first trip together without family and we had the best time and ate way too much. Nashville will forever & always be one of our favorite destinations…I loved it so much that I even blogged about the “10 Best Eats of Nashville.”

I love dogs and clearly I love doing blogs with my dogs Gus and Penny Rose. This was one of my favorite shoots this past year and made for such a gorgeous blog post.

When Gregory got back from his almost year deployment, we both decided a trip together was necessary to regroup and have fun. He had never been to Disney World (I know right?!) so it was totally a clear choice to go and act like little kids for a week. But boy, as a kid I could go ride rollercoasters and walk all day long. After this trip, we both needed a vacation from our vacation haha

A place Gregory and I go every year and the very place he proposed to me. I love going to the pumpkin patch and getting lost in the sunflower fields! This is always on my “Fall To-Do List.”

My office and closet that is! I was finally able to put paint on the walls and make my creative space a place I love to be. This also happened to be one of my most liked posts this past year!

I loved this black and white dress I wore to the Marine Corps Ball and even did an outfit post on the look. I wish I could wear it every single day!

Everything about this shoot at The Lee House gives me life! I loved the decor of this cottage and who doesn’t want to sip on “Nutella Hot Cocoa for hours?!

And that’s a wrap y’all!!

I have a good feeling about 2017 and wish you all the best in a fresh start for the coming year. Embrace new experiences and if all else fails, live by my motto for the New Year: Surround yourself with tacos, not negativity.

Cheers & Happy New Year!
