One of my biggest joys during pregnancy was decorating our nursery. Every single item would be picked out with the utmost love and care.
As soon as we found out we were pregnant, I just couldn’t wait to find out if baby Gomez would be a boy or girl. I knew right off the bat that the color of the nursery would be a gray to keep it pretty neutral. Plus our whole house is some shade of gray so we couldn’t break the trend.
When we finally found out our little blessing was a baby boy, I was torn on what “theme” to decorate this special room. I knew I didn’t want a lot of color and I also knew I wanted the decor to be simple.
Lots of hours spent on Pinterest finally lead me to the perfect theme. And I had the hardest time explaining the theme to ladies coming to the baby shower when they wanted help buying a gift. One trip to Hobby Lobby and it was fate. I filled my cart with an entire aisle’s worth of items that went with what I was looking for perfectly.
metal fox | metal bear | teepee wood shelf | don’t grow up sign | wood arrow | metal letters | wood arrow trio | changing pad | arrow changing pad cover | 6-drawer dresser | diaper genie | 4moms mamaRoo | striped teepee
I look at these pictures and just smile. I spent hours upon hours sitting in that nursery chair praying that baby Levi would make his way into the world safe and sound.
Today, I still spend so many hours in this nursery. Not just to take care of Levi, but I find myself sitting in there working on the computer while he naps or just singing to him in the glider. I feel safe. And if there’s any tip I can give to those decorating a nursery it’s to make sure you love the space.
You will spend hours upon hours in your little one’s nursery. You should smile every time you see it.
